The Hart Surgery Team

Our clinical team consists of GPs, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists and a Paramedic. They are supported by our wonderful and longsuffering reception team and behind the scenes by the equally crucical medical secretaries, prescription desk staff , administrators, care coordinators who are overseen by our practice manager. Almost 50 people work at The Hart Surgery.

Each member of our team is vital to the smooth running of the surgery.   The team is cohesive and supportive of one another and we try wherever possible to be flexible as we can and to make every single member of staff feel valued and appreciated. It really is a great place to work.

Medical Secretary

Working 2 days a week (hours approx. 8am-4.30pm, Thursday and Friday plus holiday cover

We are looking for a reliable and committed individual who is enthusiastic and comfortable with responsibility to join our medical secretary team. The applicant will need to be able to work accurately and multi-task whilst maintaining excellent customer service skills, showing empathy to our patients and dealing with all queries in a timely manner. Resilience is key as the occasional phone call is challenging and the role is face-paced.

Our medical secretaries liaise between our GPs and patients, hospitals and other NHS Institutions and third parties such as insurance companies as well as dealing with incoming emails and a myriad of other patient and 3rd party queries.

Ideally you would have had previous experience working in a GP surgery as a medical secretary and using EMIS web and docman but as a minimum requirement you would need to be proficient at touch and audio typing and familiar with MS Office.   Salary £11-£12 ph dependent on experience.

Assistant Practice Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our friendly practice team as the Assistant Practice Manager. Helping her with the overall day to day operation and business side of the practice, you will have excellent organisational, office management, HR and IT skills and be a good communicator. You will both enjoy and thrive in an exciting and busy environment supported by a happy and experienced team. Knowledge and experience of Primary Care GP services would be useful. Our clinical system is EMIS web, knowledge of this system is advantageous as well as Docman 10 and familiarity with MS Office. Salary will be dependant on experience.
