Dr Bish, our senior partner, trained at St George’s hospital in London. After qualifying he worked for 5 years in hospital medicine around SW London and Surrey. He gained experience in multiple medical specialties including gastroenterology, neurology and endocrinology before training to be a GP in 2008. He started as a partner at a Wimbledon GP practice, before moving to the Hart in 2013.
Dr Bish is married to Dr Worth, with 2 children who are growing up fast. He loves all sport and was a keen gymnast in his childhood which remains useful for the occasional party-trick.
Dr Unwin has been with the Hart Surgery for over 35 years and has cared for several generations of many of our patients. Previously senior partner, he has stepped back from a management role but still provides regular locum,GP care as well as being one of our leads on minor surgery which he has a keen interest in. Dr Unwin is also the Hart Surgery’s learning disability and autism champion and he has a real heart for these patients and their support network.
His main interests outside work are diggers, tractors and boats. He collects first edition (mostly children’s) books and is involved with Kamuli Hospital in Uganda where he volunteers from time to time.

She worked as a GP Registrar in Victoria and then as a Salaried GP in Pimlico. Prior to embarking on a career in medicine at age 26, Caroline worked in Arts/Media, having graduated from Manchester University in 2001 with a BA Honours degree in History of Art. After over 20 years living and working in London, she recently returned to Henley where she grew up.
She joined the Hart Surgery as a part-time Salaried GP and her particular interests include womens’ health and paediatrics.
She lives locally with her son. She is enjoying reconnecting with childhood friends, making new connections and spending quality time with family. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, music and cooking.
Dr Sutton qualified from University College London in 2015. She worked as a hospital doctor in Cheltenham before returning to Oxfordshire, where she grew up, to start her GP training.
5 years later and with the arrival of 2 children she was lucky enough to complete her GP training with the Hart Surgery. She was delighted to be offered a job to stay on as a salaried doctor.
Over the course of her training, she has worked in a number of hospital specialties including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, acute medicine and elderly care. Her interests include women’s health, general medicine and palliative care. She also looks after patients at Chilterns Court Care Home.
Her “free time” is now occupied by her two very active young boys, but she dreams of one day enjoying a busier social life, fine food and Italian holidays!
Tee Balakumar qualified as a Physician Associate (PA) in April 2019 from the University of Wolverhampton. She has since worked across general practices in London with some experience in A&E. She is a medically trained, generalist healthcare professional, who works alongside our GPs to provide medical care.
