Flu Season 2020-21
PROTECT YOURSELF | PROTECT THOSE AROUND YOU | PROTECT THE NHS
This year it is more important than ever to get yourself vaccinated against flu. The eligibility criteria has been expanded to include all those over the age of 50 and everyone in an ‘at risk’ category.

Who is eligible for a free annual NHS Flu Vaccination?
- adults 50 and over (previous years over 65)
- people with certain medical conditions (including children in at-risk groups from 6 months of age)
- pregnant women
- children aged 2 and 3 on 31 August 2020
- children in primary school
- frontline health or social care workers
- shielded patients and their households
Vaccines
There are three different drugs available for flu vaccinations this year.
Over 65 years old – Fluad
18-64 years old – Flucelvax Quadrivalent
Under 18s – Nasal spray unless contraindicated

Aged 65 and over and those aged 18-64 in high risk groups
We have vaccinated the majority of patients in this group. If you have missed out and still wish to have the vaccination please come to one of our 50-64 year old clinics or ring reception who will try to fit you in where they can. If you are registered housebound, we can visit you at home to give you your flu vaccination.

Please come at the time you have been allocated if you can but you may come at another time if you can’t. We ask that you only do this when absolutely necessary or we will stand a chance of running out of vaccine or long queues. If your spouse or partner is scheduled to come on a different day and it is more convenient, please come together at one or other of them.
