For flu enquiries (or help with the NHS App) please use our dedicated flu email address hart.flu@nhs.net. In order to keep our main phone lines free for day-to-day surgery business, it would really help us if you did not call our main line for flu enquiries if it is unavoidable. If you really do need to call, it would be helpful if you rang at a quiet time eg Tue-Fri, late morning or mid to late afternoon.
Our flu vaccine is delivered in stages throughout September and October so we have to spread our clinics out, prioritising the most vulnerable. We will be putting on extra clinics regularly so please check keep checking the website for details of new clinics
This year it is more important than ever to get yourself vaccinated against flu. The eligibility criteria has been expanded to include all those over the age of 50 and everyone in an ‘at risk’ category.
For more information about the NHS Flu Campaign, please see https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/flu-influenza-vaccine/
The guidelines concerning Covid Booster Vaccinations have not yet been published and so for our initial flu clinics we will not be able to give a Covid Booster at the same time. The situation may change later in the flu season.
There are three different drugs available for flu vaccinations this year. None of the ones for adults (aged over 18) are live.
Over 65 years old – Adjuvanted Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine –
18-64 years old – Flucelvax Tetra Quadrivalent
Under 18s – Nasal spray unless contraindicated *live vaccine
