Dr Mark Bish MBBS MRCGP DCH Senior Partner |
Dr Bish, our senior partner, trained at St George’s hospital in London. After qualifying he worked for 5 years in hospital medicine around SW London and Surrey. He gained experience in multiple medical specialties including gastroenterology, neurology and endocrinology before training to be a GP in 2008. He started as a partner at a Wimbledon GP practice, before moving to the Hart in 2013.
Dr Bish is married to Dr Worth, with two children who are growing up fast. He loves all sport and was a keen gymnast in his childhood which remains useful for the occasional party-trick. |
Dr Chee Pavey MBChB BSc Joint Hons MRCGP PG dip Dermatology GP Partner |
Dr Pavey is a GP partner. She grew up locally and returned to this area after qualifying from the University of Manchester. She has a keen interest in dermatology and undertook a post graduate diploma in dermatology in her final year of general practice training. She enjoys all aspects of general practice in particular the hands on procedures. She enjoys travel and theatre. |

Dr Hearsey is one of our GP Partners. He joined the Hart surgery team in 2015 and has an interest in most areas of medicine. This allows him to find a lot to write about in his fortnightly columns for the Henley Standard. He has training in dermoscopy and joint injections and looks after Lashbrook nursing home where he does a ward round every week. Outside the surgery he enjoys writing and is an avid reader. He also enjoys playing and recording music and has recently bought himself a trail-cam with which he captures footage of all manner of woodland creatures! |
Dr Philip Unwin MBBS, MRCGP, DRCoG, DiP occ med Salaried GP |
Dr Unwin has been with the Hart Surgery for over 35 years and has cared for several generations of many of our patients. Formerly senior partner, he has stepped back from a management role but still provides regular locum, GP care as well as being one of our leads on minor surgery which he has a keen interest in. Dr Unwin is also the Hart Surgery’s learning disability and autism champion and he has a real heart for these patients and their support network.
His main interests outside work are diggers, tractors and boats. He collects first edition (mostly children’s) books and is involved with Kamuli Hospital in Uganda where he volunteers from time to time. |

Dr Jo Kyte MBChB, MRCGP, MRCP, BSc Salaried GP |
Dr Jo Kyte qualified at Bristol University in 2008. She went on to start speciality training in Oncology at St Bart’s Hospital in London and then worked in Acute Medicine before training to become a GP. Her particular areas of interest are Oncology, Palliative Care, Acute Medicine and Maternal Health.
Dr Kyte lives with her 3 (very energetic) children and (less energetic) husband. Hopefully a dog will join them next year. Dr Kyte loves spending time with her friends and family, cooking and some occasional retail therapy! |

Dr Smith is a registrar in her final year of GP training. She grew up locally and then after qualifying from the University of Bristol in 2017 she worked in South London for 2 years prior to returning to the area and to start GP training. Dr Smith lives with her husband and 2 young children and loves the chaos of young family life as well as golf, cooking and reading (when she finds the time). |

Amanda qualified as a Physician Associate (PA) in September 2023 from the University of Reading. Prior to that, she completed a degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Brighton. In her spare time she loves reading and baking. She is also hoping to take up hiking as a hobby and wants to travel more now that she has qualified. |

Sharone qualified as a Physician Associate (PA) in March 2024 from the University of Manchester. Prior to this, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Medical Physiology and Therapeutics from the University of Nottingham. All her spare time is taken up caring for her ‘children’ (her many, many plants) and re-watching her comfort show, Friends. She hopes to take up running soon and enjoy the lovely views of Henley. |

TEE IS CURRENTLY ON MATERNITY LEAVE
Tee Balakumar qualified as a Physician Associate (PA) in April 2019 from the University of Wolverhampton. She has since worked across general practices in London with some experience in A&E. She is a medically trained, generalist healthcare professional, who works alongside our GPs to provide medical care. When not at work, she loves spending time with her family and is a keen interior designer. She is currently looking to home a dog. |
