Norovirus now at highest levels since reporting data began in 2014

The UK Health Security Agency’s latest national norovirus report shows that norovirus activity has remained high in recent weeks.

The total number of norovirus laboratory reports during weeks 6 and 7 of 2025 was more than double (168.0%) the 5-season average for the same 2-week period.

In addition, there are now multiple genotypes spreading at the same time which means people could end up getting infected more than once this season.

Biggest impacts are in health and social care settings, including hospitals and care homes.
